Gamma software signed up by SS Great Britain

The SS Great Britain in Bristol has chosen Gamma LeisurePOS to provide an integrated solution in a range of areas of its operation.

The ship - designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and built in 1843 - is one of the UK’s leading visitor attractions. It is the winner of 13 major awards including Enjoy England 'Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2007', European Museum of the Year’s 'Micheletti Award' and the Gulbenkian Prize for the UK Museum of the Year.

It has also been shortlisted for other major awards in 2007.

The Gamma system chosen includes Admissions & Ticketing with integrated Chip & PIN, Bookings & Event Management and Gift Aid Processing. Also supplied was the Gamma Web Interface Module which will allow visitors to pre-book admission tickets on-line.

Elsewhere in England, the Gamma LeisurePOS system has just been installed at the Snibston Discovery Park in Coalville and - a short distance away - the visitor centre at Bosworth Battlefield. Both sites are owned, managed and funded by Leicestershire County Council.
